I thought it was like popping popcorn in an oiled pan, where you have to guess by the sound and smell whether the popping is over and it's about to scorch and burn.
Except, with a microwave, who knows what happens when the last trace of water is expelled? I saw the Batman / Halle Barre / Catwoman movie where she blows up a whole building with a microwave. They can't say it in movies if it isn't true, you know!
