I've read some gardeners actually cut off the blooms from 1st year plants, I just can't bring myself to do so! I don't cut off sidebuds, either, so I can enjoy the blooms longer. I don't know if removing those first year blooms gives the plant enough of a head-start to justify denying myself the happiness the blooms provide....What do you all think?
