I am all finished with my fall peony work! I just finished cutting down all peony foliage and hauling it away! And I dug up, divided, and replanted a group of mature self-seeded plants a few days ago, and also got all my new orders (10 cultivars) planted a couple of weeks ago. So now it's just waiting until the ground is frozen so I can mulch the newly planted ones (which I only do their first year here in Minnesota.

gorgeous photo, what? Hurray! This is two of the newly moved self-seeded plants... there are 7 more beyond the forsythia (which doesn't show when I checked the preview page but did when I clicked on the photo).
The location is a former row of nanking cherry trees which were half-dead (very unsightly) and haven't had any cherries for several years. I worked very hard taking them out this past summer and I think a row of peonies in their place will be beautiful... in two or three years.

The group of self-seeded in full bloom last summer, varying from white through shades of pink, and several flower forms. My sister and I dug them up last week, threw them in a pile. I picked out 9 big husky divisions with lots of big eyes; my sister took the rest back to North Dakota where she will plant some and give the rest away. So I have no idea what I just planted... it will be a wonderful surprise when they start to bloom. I hope one that I picked will be that pink double on the right side of the photo! I plan to give them all "garden names" - that will be fun!
