That's a real shame Glen. I don't know if you'll be able to get the local government to do that but more power to you if you can. Here they allow trimming *with a permit* & they only allow mangroves to be trimmed X feet at the time & no lower ever than X feet. This pretty much takes care of the problem. People can usually see over the trimmed mangroves to view the water.
