My friend and I have talked about Star Gooseberry, but that common name can apply to at least two completely different plants: Sauropus androgynus and Phyllanthus acidus. A good reason to always add the botanical name so folks won't buy, eat or grow the wrong plant.
Imagine planting what you think is a 3 - 5 foot tall shrub and ending up with a 30 foot tree! Okay, both have edible fruit, but the sauropus androgynus needs a much shorter ladder, or no ladder at all.
