You are all so funny. Hilarious! Hilarious! I used to live in the Frigid North too for 5 years,..in Winnipeg, Manitoba..where we all accept the fact it is Winter-peg, Ma-snow-ba. It is only 6 months of the year anyways Big Grin On a good sunshiny winter day we get -10C; at -15C, you have to start plugging your parked car to an external outlet, otherwise it will not start up....it is in Jan to Feb when it starts getting -20C to -40C, that's the time when you really have to be extra mindful of protecting yourself, just the eyes visible going outdoors, and don't stay out too long, easy to catch frostbite in a couple of minutes, river is already frozen, so you can walk on the river, or some do ice fishing. Winter jackets has to be rated for -20C to -40C, to be really effective. When we finally start hitting -4C to 0C it feels too darn warm, we can go with just a light jacket. Too bad, we did not have the opportunity to visit Churchill during winter....that's where you will see the Polar Bears in situ. Hey, but that has been home for 5 years..learned a lot, enjoyed it as best as we can. Smiling

Hey Rick, I love visiting Vancouver! Really picturesque! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby And as you said milder winter temps.

But now we are in the Central Valley area of California, inland, but just about at the Northern part of the Central Valley, so we get the searing hot, and dry 6 month summer, a good mix of Bay area breeze and the radiation fog and cold inversions during late Fall to winter, and getting the occasional 21F= -6C.

I think we have an ATP member who lives in North Dakota, and also has some Adeniums. North Dakota borders Manitoba, so they have similar frigid conditons.
