My grandparents owned a rifle range and an organic (for the 1960's) pear orchard (in southern California). I used to work the 'office' checking in the shooters and selling snacks and ammo. I got to have a 'soda pop' once or twice a month. Here in central California it seems to be more common to call it 'soda'.
