Generally, I defer to @drdawg / Ken Ramsey and @psa / Paul Anguiano and @kqcrna / Karen (and others) about plant lighting because they have experience, and I mostly have reading plus a very little 20-30 year old experience.

That blog article was where I gave up on making an article, because I couldn't find spectra that would prove that expensive "gro lites" are really just relabeled broad spectrum tri-phosphor tubes with high prices. And I found contradictory info about using T8 bulbs in T-12 fixtures (suitability of old-style ballasts with T-8 bulbs).
