Geeeezzzz Betty, after seeing your post I realise that my moaning about having to wait for a brug delivery for a few more weeks pales in comparison to what you are going through.
Living this far north,I always pictured Texas as warm year round.Growing up as a kid in the 50s-early 60s,we watched cowboy movies and westerns, and I remember cactus and sagebrush and desert-like scenes in the shows,so I always pictured Texas as hot and dry. But then again as I look back at it,that was Hollywoods' version of reality
I feel so badly for you. That has always been my worst fear, that the power would go out and I would lose all the plants in my basement grow room.At one point this winter,we went from around Xmas to mid February without getting above freezing.Any power outage,no matter how short would be fatal, because I live in the mountains, and most of the power lines are off the road and through the woods,so it takes a while just to find the problem, then haul all the equipment in to repair it.And if the poles themselves are down, then there is a real problem.I know, because I was a lineman for over 20 years before I retired. Our last average frost date here is May 15th,so we are not out of the woods yet (no pun intended)
So,I hope most if not all of your babies make it,they are stronger than we give them credit for,and I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
.Reminds me of the old proverb about feeling bad that I had no shoes, till I met a man that had no feet.
