Yes Rick, I believe it is cardiocrinum giganteum. I saw many different suggestions on the internet as well and I figured I trust you guys more!
Well I wish I took a picture of the pod but it was about the size of a lime! I'd say it was about 3-4 times as big as a full OT or Trumpet pod. Rick is right about the "flaps". There is quite a sail to catch the wind.

This is a comparison to oriental seed chaff. (the only thing I had laying around)
I'd say an OT seed would be a little bigger than the oriental but still small in comparison.
