Altho cold tolerance is one of my top goals since I live up here in the frozen tundra of northern Pa., I really am working on compact, and more everblooming brugs, without loseing the brug fragrance. I notice that in roses for instance, they have bred some fantastic flowers, but at the expense of most of them have little or none of that rose smell. They are very pretty, but you have to stick your nose right into the bud to get a scent. Not all of them, but too many in my opinion. Same thing with a lot of veggies. They are big look good, but have no taste like they did 50 years ago when I was a kid. A smaller brug plant with great scent that can grow in a smaller pot on a deck or patio would help older people grow them without having to drag 5,7,or 10 gallon pots around, just too heavy, and take up a lot of room. One of the brugs I am working with is Inca Sun. I have had I S for a few years now,and it is one of the smaller plants, and is almost always in bloom,in fact, it is one the first to bloom for me in the spring, and is always in flower as opposed to having flushes, and the scent is good too. It also blooms till I have to take it in before the first frost. So, Inca Sun is a major player in my breeding program. Strangely enough,MEM is another brug that is always in flower for me,even tho she is a bigger plant and flower,I am trying to breed her down cause her smell knocks my socks off

But, MEM is mostly a pollen donor, cause try as I do,I can't seem to get her to set a pod,but she is a great dad

,sounds funny, but you get what I mean. I am working with a few others also,so,maybe with the help of the brug Gods, one day we will have a small, fragrant, everblooming brug before I myself go dormant

Any of you bruggers out there that don't have Inca Sun should get one,you won't be dissapointed in my opinion.
