I was trying out a new flash technique (will post in the photo forums about it later when I get it written up). I'd wandered with my dogs all over the foothills shooting the fall's last wildflowers in a rather experimental fashion. And this willow was very near where I'd left the car. It seemed like a worthy subject so I shot a few.

I'd been thinking about posting a thread about plants at the not-peak of their lifecycles and thought the willow would be a good candidate. I'll probably post it in this thread eventually:
