Salvias Celebrating Gardening: 2015
I used to have a rose garden and I liked the high centered long stem
roses..
The area I had them got plenty of sun but the ground was just too damp under
neath ..in that area of the yard so they did beautiful for 3 years then I had to
take them up.. We do have mildew and black spot and I did not like exposing myself
to spraying them every 10 days but I did for those 3 years.

I next put an iris bed there and too damp for them..water never stood and the dirt
would be dry but down under it all it was still too wet
so that area is now grassed...

Lots of trial and error when you start out the first 10 years with perennials
and I had no computer and no one to advise me in our area.

Now what grows best for me...
perennial salvias, bearded iris, daylillys, coneflowers, clematis on trellis
and that is what I keep and enjoy here..
Half day sun..no afternoon sun and it all works well for me
in zone 8 and high humidity..
