Donald, in Manitoba where we lived before in Canada , the initial snow that comes in November stays till May, lucky to get early thaw in April. Our consistent sub freezing and double digit negative temps keeps it there.
That extreme snowfall in Buffalo is indeed worrisome. If their forecasts says warming temps next..that will indeed be flooding. It also happens up North, flooding as the snow melts eventually and made worst by the south to north flow of the Red River as snow melts from the US and gets carried back to Manitoba.
I know the people in that side of the east coast are used to the wintry conditions..but that kind of extreme snow and thaw in a few days..that will be very disastrous indeed.
