I am using a 50% small gravel with compost and perlite and sand. Something that water can drain right thru because I also over water. Also adding phosphate rock for rooting system. Also using a small amount of sulfur to kill fungus to the water. I also noticed my seedlings showed no signs of root rot. My store bought was rooted cuttings which means some part of the stem is below ground. My seedlings still have that stem from the first growth that is above ground. I now re-root my stapelias and Huernias above ground with roots only growing into the ground. Like how nature would do it.
