I lived briefly on Whidbey Island about 68 years ago. Hilarious! Oak Harbor to be exact. Was too young to appreciate all the gardens though. I envy you your trip. I have managed a couple of trips to Washington and Oregon just to see nurseries with my daughter but she is now is Texas so no more traveling companion. Shrug! I volunteer at our Alaska Botanical Garden here and enjoy that very much. I confine it to office work but everyone else wants to be in the garden so I feel I am still contributing. Great people. I retired in 2009 and this is the first time I have really felt a commitment to 'commiting' and know it is the right choice for me.
