Here first year seedlings can bloom anytime from April till Sept, I don't believe there is a peak bloom the first year. The second year is when the preform like mature daylilies and will peak around mid May like the other daylilies here.

I have never paid any attention to the leaves, these seedlings are 8" apart and by the time they start to scape they are so thick I can hardly see the scape's until they are above the foliage (leaves). Most will be more than one fan (2-3) again this is something I pay little attention to at first bloom. I want to know the fan count after rebloom if I choose that seedling to move and look at another year. If it doesn't rebloom it doesn't get moved to the hybridizing area.
