wise, wise woman, Debra. I should have taken a leaf from your book. Friday my four year old grandson, the one that I have every other weekend, had his Christmas Pageant. I showed up and he came on stage dressed as a shepherd and took his seat, looked at the audience saw me and smiled..... then the smile faded, a frown creased his forehead, his chin set.... he barely sang his songs.... he was unhappy. What in the world! He did not enjoy the performance at all. I was so confused. After the performance as I made my way through a throng of family members, back to his classroom, my son told me that the night before he told grandson that granny was coming. Grandson got very happy and said "Granny can sit right beside me on stage and sing with me". Can you just see granny sitting on stage in a iddy biddy chair with fifty 4-year olds singing 'Little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.... ride'. Most do not know what hay is but since it is so close to Halloween they know what a hayride is. Have you seen the movie ELF?!? I made it up to him so all is well....now.
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
