Kate my fern is an asparagus plumosa (or "Plumosa Fern") Asparagus Fern (Asparagus setaceus)
in the stores or nurseries they are small so look different...this one is at least 35 years old, and tied up, which to me could be how these ferns grow in the wild (if they're from tropical regions, they could be partially epiphytic don't have any idea but it seems likely, given all the ferns one sees growing on the trees in the rain forests!!) Thumbs up
I tip my hat to you.
