That shouldn't be hard to do, this year.....as I'm only planning on adding a *few* Sticking tongue out .Since I'm *mostly* into historics, the new intros, while quite nice, aren't something I'm especially "waiting to see". What I do with Superstition (as well as several other vendors) is work off of the last year's catalog, and develop my "order list", e-mail it to them , when they reply with the cost, I send a check.
While the *cost* is ,of course, somewhat important, not dealing with "new intros" means it will be within MY budget ( I refuse to pay $50, or even more, for an iris!), so whether the rhizome is $4, $8, or even $15.....the heart wants what the heart wants Sticking tongue out , and it's the AVAILABILITY of the rhizome (some cultivars are really hard to find !), and it's 'quality" (general health, and size), that I'm really buying.
Rick and Roger sell about the healthiest plants around, and, their *historics* are all vetted for accuracy, so a person KNOWS it's as "right as possible", and I think they are among the fairest, and most easy to deal with ,in the business.
As I've said before, if I am going to buy an iris, and it's a Tasco, or a Duncan.....I'll buy it from Superstition, same goes for "Stewart" iris from Snow Peak, and" Hedgecock's" from Comanche Acres.......I will ,on occasion, "fill out" an order with an iris that I COULD have bought directly from it's hybridizer...but it's a rare occasion. Again, being into historics...most of the hybridizers have long since went to the big "Iris Garden in the Sky"....so I have no choice but to buy them from someone else....if they can be found at all !
