Hi Val,

I just popped in to see what's up. I know I don't live in south Florida anymore, but have some good memories of my gardening friends down your way.

I haven't run the heater in the GH all winter so brought in the few coveted tropicals and all my orchids. The orchids are all in my garden tub and sink and I now have 4 cattleyas with bloom buds on them. In the tub and sink I can put all the water on them they need. Except, when this is over, there will probably be a clog in the sink since the bark and stuff may be falling down the drain. Something I will deal with later.

Good thing I don't have a garage, I'd forget about them.

Going native is definitely a good idea, one I will put more effort into in the future. Even with natives, however, my gardens look like a wasteland right now. I don't even want to go out there.

Oh! But there are bloom buds on my Carolina Jessimine right now. They are evergreen and have only a few yellowed leaves through this ice age.
