Here's the response I received today, from Kathy Ann:
They need to be in full sun and and if the pot is crammed full then she would need to divide the pot. If she left the pot outside they should be fine. Don't water them though this winter . They will come back in the spring. Put the pot in full sum and don't divide them till after bloom time.
