Fiat, I have three new bulbs that have an odd number of buds on their scapes. Both of Rebecca's scapes have 5 buds. However this is a smaller flower cultivar, and often times they will have more than 4 buds on a scape. It will be interesting to see if all 5 buds develop and bloom. Daphne's first scape has 3 blooms and Terracotta Star's first scape has 5 buds. Though it is less likely, you can have odd numbers of buds.
