@drdawg I've only been using a few CFLs clipped onto a pole -- so I think you're right. My plants are starving. I'm going to put it right over my 4 shelf plant stand that's about 3' long - Not sure if it will do much for the plants the 2nd shelf down, hopefully. Eventually my new 6 x 8 HFGH will be joined with the existing HFGH 6 x 8 and husband is going to "raise the roof" (literally) - and then I hope to have a nice bright fluorscent in the ceiling (maybe T5).
