Hey Plantlady,

I'm surprised but maybe I shouldn't, I reference "Exotica - pictorial cyclopeida of exotic plants" 7th edition by Alfred Byrd Graf published in 1973. I do know that some plants are unresolved as of yet as in the P. domesticum and also P. domesticum variegatum listed with pictures. When I said 'hastatum' is does list it as P. domesticum (hastatum hort.). I have visited the Aroid website as well, when doing my own investigation since philodendron names have changed or are still in contention. I used Chrome when doing my search and when I put in philodendron domesticum I get a bunch of listings, why you don't I'm not sure, since it does list around 1800 hits on the name. But that is neither here nor there, at least you know what you have. but still the best way to know for sure, is to allow the vines to climb so the adult leaves come out, if, someone is not sure of what they do have. So that's my take on the thing. Just as a side note, I have run across a lot of disagreement as to whether or not Alfred Graf was right or wrong in his labeling of plants. I've been going through this old cyclopedia plant by plant to get color pictures instead of black and white from the beginning, just for my own enjoyment, I'm making my own cyclopedia as it were and so far, I'd say about 97% of the time, the plants that he lists can be found online with the same names including the Philo's. I have found differences when it came to Alocasia's and Colocasia's and Datura's and Brugmansia's and so forth. It'll be interesting when I get to the Orchid section since I know that many many of them have different names and some are no longer in use. A friend of mine will come in handy when I do that section.

As I said, I stick my nose in and say my bit and hope it helps or not.

Good growing to you all!
Thumbs up
