I use a cement-mixing bin that I bought at our local big-box store. It's about 6" deep, and about 20" x 16". It was only about 8 or 9 dollars, and makes it really easy to moisten a large amount of potting mix at one time. Also is big enough to fill my pots without dirt going everywhere!
