Thank you Patti, I cannot imagine why you cannot grow it, as it is very easy. I did however notice your area said Australian Alps, so you are in Australia, maybe growing conditions for it there are different than here in the US??? Here it runs up trees and the purple kind just grows wild in our area a lot. In spring the areas where it grows wind, it's so lovely in bloom, looks like trees full of grapes.
