I just grease the pole with Super Lube on the other feeder that has a metal pole. It's fun to watch the little varmints trying to climb it and sliding down when they can't grip.

My big feeder with the net underneath is a "Squirrel Proof" one that shuts the seed ports when anything with any weight sits on the perch. So, only the little skinny squirrel can get on there and get at the seed. Lucky for me, my kids get me stuff like that for Xmas and birthday gifts, because they are Expensive!
