Hi Usha,
I did not see that article but I've read a lot about that possibility. In one week's time it's not unusual to experience 1500 earthquakes in California, Nevada and Baja California. Most are 1-3 on the richter. Barely noticeable. Right now, for the last few months since that 7 pt something quake on the Mex. Calif. border at the Gulf there are hundreds of quakes. Scientists say it's best to have many, many small earthquakes. This eases the shock of "the Big One". It's so interesting to be to see the formation of the surface of the Earth in terms of plates and quakes. California is breaking apart, in my view. Of course, this won't take place over Labor Day weekend but it sure is happening.

I don't know if you were in AZ for the Northridge earthquake in So Cal in January 1994. All of the hotels in Phx metro were full. It scared the poo poo out of Californians.

At this time there's not much seismic activity in Pac. Nor. West. Scientists say they are due for a 10 magnitude w/in 30 years. That is going to be a disaster.
“Don't give up too quickly"... unknown, I heard it somewhere.
