Hi Debbie. I'm afraid that unless given a lot of protection, it would not survive your conditions... Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria heterophylla)
Even here in NE. Florida, I grow one in a container with success, but, it does require a bit of protection, in zone 9a.
Someone not far from me is growing one pretty successfully, at the southern exposure of the house, and planted fairly close to that house. I feel that they are quite lucky that they haven't lost it. I think the secret to their success is that they apparently have found a great micro-climate for it.
