Yes--houseplants
with big strappy leaves, clogging up all the sunny windows, just for those irresistible blooms once a year
to let me know that spring is right around the corner...
I suppose that I could haul them outside for the summer but I don't. I haul the bigger plants out and let the bulbs stretch their wings in the windows--where I can keep them from frying and remember to water them enough.
Mine all find their own schedule after their first year. I do have two blooming now in honor of the celebration week
and the rest will do their thing sometime between now and about the end of March.
