At present, winter, pond water is at its clearest. Have'nt taken a photo recently. Plants are very happy, little fish are happy, they also know the time when I go there to put those tiny granules, just for fun though they may not need it as they get enough algae in the water to live on.

Everyone constructs a sump underground, using bricks and plastering its inside. The supply pipe will be ground level and so even if there is less pressure it keeps on to fill the sump. It is nothing but storage. The sump is covered by concrete with a square opening with lid, about 20 inches square, enough to let in a person. Connected to this sump is a pump to take water to the overhead tank from where we use the water. For drinking purposes, I collect water [let in on alternate days] in our copper vessel and steel drum [15 litre] with tap - kept in the kitchen. Some people use the OH tank water for drinking also, but we don't. My sump holds 7,000 litres of water. 4 litres = 1 gallon [approx.]

Water table is very low here - they have made holes in the earth and taken out much water. Depletion of ground water is another worry. They are sucking out all natural resources and they leave nothing for the future generations to survive. They let out precious rainwater into the drains.

Your 'sump' may be different. So now you got the idea of our sump.
