After reading through all of this discussion it seems that bananas are very resilient and a food source that could do well in more climates than conventional wisdom would support. I love bananas but don't have room in the yard. I have seen a very large "stand" at an Arabian Horse facility in Cave Creek. I pass by all the time and over the years it's in various stages of life... but, always alive.
“Don't give up too quickly"... unknown, I heard it somewhere.
