I am new to growing daylilies from seeds but thanks to Mike I have some seeds to play with. I put them in water about a weeks ago and several have germinated. I moved four to pots and noticed that the rest are also popping. Obviously I am working with very different weather conditions here, but I have lighted rolling racks in the garage. It runs about 55F out there in the winter. I ran the lights down to about 2" from the pots. The directions said to put the lights as close as possible. That will certainly warm them also. I doubt that any will bloom this year as our growing season is very short and rather cool. But they should be outside by 'planting out' day around the middle of May. I only have three raised beds (4x8) but I am tempted to dedicate at least part of one to the babies I get. Then I also am germinating Siberian iris that will need a home outside. Not so worried about them as they grow wonderfully well up here.
