They are from, "The Royal Horticultural Society" - RHS

Scroll all the way down to the instructions on line "7" and you will see reference to the R.H.S. color chart

If you go to the iris register, you can look up the description of an iris. Here is an example - note the RHS chart references.

"S. light rose purple (RHS 75D) infused bishop’s violet (82B) from base; style arms light rose purple; F. dark bishop’s violet lighter beside beard; beards brick orange (39B); slight musky fragrance."
