I did battle nutgrass at my second house.. I was in my 30's and bound and determined to get it all, and I did! I just had a small patch in the front..maybe 3-4' in diameter... It took me awhile to chase down every root, but I did...

Oh gosh.. When I was just learning to garden at my first house, there was some wild garlic blooming out in the pasture behind our house. I thought it was charming, dug some up and planted it in the garden. I think one of my more knowledgeable friends gasped in horror when I proudly told her about my incredible find. Needless to say, I got rid of it tout suite! I've got some here on the down slope to the creek.... but I've got bigger battles to fight, so I let it be.
The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.
