Cheryl, impatiens seeds are really pretty easy to collect... when the seed pods start looking "fat" i just hold them over/inside a container of some sort (usually a margarine tub, in my case) and pinch them off... when they finish drying they pop open and the seeds are all loose in the container. (But what I really like to do is show a pod to some unsuspecting visitor and tell them to touch it -- when they pop open it's almost like they're alive! Hilarious! )
