Now that I have that MSU info posted I will try to address the rest of the questions. Just like orchids, different genera like different things so I will generalize here. Bromeliads like a weak liquid fertilizer just like orchids. After all, most of them are epiphytes. The big difference is I feed my broms monthly, not weekly or daily. I use a balanced, no urea fertilized for both. The only thing I see that may harm a bromeliad in the MSU formula is the copper but there is so little of it (.044%) that it is probably not worth worrying about. I like your spot spraying idea, hitting the orchids every week and the broms once a month.
