Thanks for your reply, Xeramtheum. I started them in pots because I still need to work on the garden space they will be going in and sometimes my schedule can get hectic for time outdoors, so... rather than missing out on the freesias and rananculus, I figured I would start them in starter pots, and plant them in the garden when I have it ready.
