It looks good Christina! Basil loves hot weather, though most herbs prefer cool weather. Well, except mints - mine grow no matter what time of year it is. I killed the Tri-Colored Sage - definitely does not like the heat. I direct seed all my herbs except my thymes I bought as plants. I hear they take a long time from seed but don't know for sure.

Cats are picky about where they put their feet, so chicken wire or something similar on top of the soil or near the surface should deter the cat box urge.
