It's a hybrid of 2 lovebird species, I think there are 9. There are some lovebirds called 'eyering' species and when crossed with peach faced will create sterile birds which might also be quite nervous and confused at maturity due to the differences in breeding and nesting behaviors, so I'm thinking lucky for you and the bird that it's male since that probably mainly holds true for females which are in large part responsible for the nesting.
