Wow, Melanie that Hickory Horned Devil looks really fearsome! We caught at least 10 Tomato Hornworms in the school garden last fall, and the kids were so funny about handling them, we all wear gloves in the garden, though.

I brought them home and put them on my bird feeder. The blue jays made short work of them!

It's pretty unusual to see raccoons scavenging in broad daylight, you got a lucky shot there. Maybe better tell the people at the restaurant to be careful when they're taking out the garbage, raccoons will bite and they're rabies vectors.
