I can't remember who suggested this to me. Maybe Marie or Lynn. I was giving some of my apricot Canna to couple folks at SWAP. It was suggested I dig them up a week prior to the Swap and just lay them on the ground. Raw, broken off part would seal. Plant within the next week. Lynn gave me some that she had and I planted them within a few days of receiving them. They're growing like crazy but it did take a few months for them to get going. And, yes, lots of water once they're in the ground.
