I am in hot hot hot Texas and I see these grown very often in full sun. There is one in north Austin that is even beside a curb and highway in full sun all day. It is a really hardy plant. I have grown it in shade and full sun. Humidity does not seem to be a huge issue for this one. This plant can be severely neglected and still thrive. Don't worry about treating it like a hot house flower, because it is tougher than it looks.
