I take photos like that, too. The thing is though, the scene changes. Some plants die. Some get too large and then have to be moved somewhere else. New ones get added. In my case, with the deer and the groundhogs, many plants also get EATEN.

This year some tree trimming definitely has to be done. What used to be sunny flower beds have continued to become more shady over the years. More sun would also help heat up the soil sooner for planting. We don't get very hot here ... occasionally we'll get 90 plus degrees for 5-6 days at the most. Summer is usually high 70's-80's. Spring is short, sometimes rainy and cool. Fall is great for planting perennials. And winter here? Now I know why bears hibernate. lol
