Thanks for the advice. I generally use mushroom or worm compost to blend with ProMix for potting and the amount of compost depends on the plant. My yard waste compost doesn't get hot enough to kill off anything so I'm reluctant to use it in pots. My potted ginger sat right next to a small water fountain that splashed everywhere with another potted plant in front of it. It started out in full shade on the patio but sort of sat there, not putting on any new growth so that's why I moved it into the sun. And it sure doesn't get as hot here as in TX. Maybe this plant is a little sensitive. Smiling Guess I'll have to find a part shade location for it - morning sun, afternoon shade.
