The bud count isn't high... maybe 8-12 ish. I don't know how it would do in a good location; here, it is in a poor location with a TON of shade, literally only a few hours of sun a day, and it only gets fertilized once a year. Really, it's surprising that it blooms at all. (In case you are wondering, this garden tends to run on benign neglect. Not everything gets fertilized every year, never mind several times a year.)

But 'Lavender Dew' is one of the earlier daylilies in the garden (never mind that it is registered as a midseason; I think it's maybe more an EM), and it is one that I look forward to every year.

My picture, by the way, was taken later in the day. The color does fade, and the image shows that.

If bud count concerns you, you might look for descendants of it, or of its tet conversion. Patrick Stamile had some introductions out of the tet conversion, and at least one of them (I took a quick look) had a high bud count.
