I was sent some of these plants and put them at the top of a dry rather gravely spot in full sun. Some died and I moved them to around the west side of the house that is pretty shady and rather moist. They went nuts last summer and are very healthy looking now in the frozen ground. I only put them there temporarily until I could figure a better spot. Now I think they like the little nursery area where they share ground with astilbe, daylilies, ferns. Not a very likely pairing but they seem happy.
