Beautiful pictures and signs of spring. Unfortunately, daffs are only either and inch or so out of the soil and some just breaking thru the ground. Snow just melted in back yard where there is less sun. I have a question for those especially, Neal and Marilyn about the Eranthus hyemails. I was given a few from my husbands cousin that lives in Indiana. To no avail, I can not get them to grow. Mine are planted in rich black soil around our Maple tree where so many other things survive, today I noticed I have ONE that flowered. It is possible they may have gotten crowded out by the lamium. I heard they do not like to be transplanted. I am zone 5a, Illinois. Any suggestions? I have been trying unsuccessfully to get them started. Thanks for any advice.
