Hmmmmmm, I have never heard of doing that. Why would Jim want to wax the cut end? Wouldn't that prevent rooting? Perhaps that might be something handy to do IF you took cuttings just before bringing in the cuttings for fall/winter storage. Perhaps it would keep that cut end viable better/longer than just the callus. Shrug!
